WEDDING GUEST GLAM
Wedding guest glam
Doing my job as a mobile make-up artist I am preparing brides and wedding guests a lot but it’s not often I attend a wedding myself! On Saturday I attended my fiancés friends wedding and this is how I prepped and what I wore for the day.
Attending a wedding can be expensive and choosing an outfit can be stressful. I bought my dress months ago off Vinted for an absolute bargain £7 including postage! I paired it with shoes and a bag that I already had to save money. There’s always a worry that someone may be wearing the same dress as you so Vinted is a great option to wear something not brand new in the shops!
On the Thursday evening my fiancé gave me a spray tan. Yes I asked him to do it as it’s impossible to do on yourself and I much prefer a spray tan to self tan. I have all the equipment so it seemed a waste paying someone else to do it! He did a wonderful job with very clear instructions from me lol. Spray tans are a great way to feel more confident when wearing a wedding guest dress exposing your arms and legs!
Weddings are such a long day so make up needs to LAST especially when it’s a hot day. I opted for a soft glam make up which is my usual style. You still want to feel like yourself but anything too dramatic I feel is a little inappropriate for a wedding. I applied my make up at 8.30am and it lasted until the end of the night (10pm in our case as we can’t hack a full night out anymore lol)

I curled my hair using the Remington hydra luxe curling tong and pinned them up before I started make up. With it being such a warm day I started with hair first to prevent getting all stressed and hot after applying my make up. I had recently done a clients make up and she had the most amazing curls I had to ask her what she used! She kindly sent me an email the next day letting me know the exact curler and I straight away purchased it off Amazon! After I finished my make up I released the pins and combed through the curls. The curls didn’t look exactly how I wanted them but it was my first time using the wand so I definitely need more practice!

I then finished off with my absolute favourite fragrance Tom Ford Black Orchid. It is a little pricey but I only use it when I go out!
This is my overall look. It was really nice to get dressed up and attend a wedding for once. It was a bonus to have a Saturday off work too!
