NATASHA DENONA CONCEALER REVIEW

Natasha Denona Hy-Glam Concealer Review

NATASHA DENONA – HY-GLAM CONCEALER

I’d like to start off this review by letting you know I am extremely picky when it comes to concealers. I have wanted to try this concealer for a while after reading lots of great reviews but honestly the price point had always put me off. Knowing I’m very hard to please I was unsure whether I wanted to risk it or not. After having some Christmas money to treat myself I bit the bullet and purchased this for my first new product review so I hope you enjoy reading!

FIRST IMPRESSIONS OF NATASHA DENONA HY-GLAM CONCEALER…

The packaging of this concealer felt very luxurious with its flat edges and soft touch lid. The wand shape and size distributed the product nicely.

I opted for shade N1 which was a perfect match for me however the online shade matcher did suggest I would be shade RN1. I am naturally cool toned but I personally prefer a neutral concealer shade so I am glad I trusted my gut when choosing this shade for myself. The online shade matcher is a great tool if you prefer to purchase online and don’t have a clue which shade to choose though!

Here is a photo before the concealer was applied…

Application – The product felt creamy and hydrating and applied very smoothly. The concealer offered a medium coverage without feeling drying.

Here is a photo immediately after the concealer has been applied…

On one side I have applied just the concealer with no powder. I did find the concealer creased almost straight away. As you can see from the photo it has slightly creased under the eye.

Here is a photo after applying concealer with setting powder over the top which minimised any creasing and matified the finish…

AFTER 5 HOURS WEAR

First image is without powder. As you can see the concealer has creased and disappeared in parts.

This second image is also taken after 5 hours wear but with the additional setting powder over the top. As you can see the concealer has lasted longer but it has emphasised fine lines…

PROS

– Beautiful packaging. Feels very luxurious to hold and the wand applied the concealer nicely.

– Hydrating. I feel this concealer would be great for anyone that doesn’t like a matt concealer under the eyes.

– Good coverage. This product is great for anyone wanting a medium coverage with a dewier finish.

– Great shade range. With up to 50 shades to choose from there will be a shade for everyone.

– Online shade matching service is a great tool to use when choosing to purchase this concealer.

CONS

– Price. I feel £32 is a little steep for a concealer.

– This product does claim to be crease-proof which as you can see from the images this is false. I do however believe unless you set a concealer with powder there isn’t a concealer that is completely crease proof alone. The hydrating properties of this concealer means naturally it will crease more than a fuller matte coverage concealer.

– Longevity. Product without setting powder creased and did not last more than a few hours. Final picture was taken 5 hours later and most of the concealer had disappeared. On the powder side it did last longer however it did settle into fine lines more than my usual concealer.

LUCYS RATING – 5.5 / 10

I personally would not recommend purchasing this concealer. Head to the ‘Lucy Loves’ section to find out my best rated concealer.
