SENSITIVE SKIN RECOMMENDATIONS
It might sound silly but I have only just recently discovered I have sensitive skin. Whenever I itched my skin or I had a massage my skin would turn bright red, I just thought this was normal!
I’ve been on a bit of a journey with my facial skincare recently, suffering with rosacea I have been trying out lots of different products. The ones that were targeted for sensitivity have seemed to make a huge difference. I thought I would make a blog post about products I’ve tried and tested that are great for anyone that suffers with sensitive skin on their face or body.
Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser
This is the most gentle cleaner I have ever used. While it’s not amazing at removing heavy make-up it is great for a gentle cleanser in the morning or after your first cleanse removing make-up. I use a more powerful cleaner to remove the majority of make-up and then finish off with this cleanser to calm my skin.
Cetaphil Daily Defence Cream SPF 50 Mineral
SPFS are notorious for irritating skin or causing breakouts. After a lot of research I found mineral sunscreens are the best option for sensitive or acne prone skin. I have tried a few mineral sunscreens and a lot leave a white cast or affect the longevity of make-up. Until I found this Cetaphil SPF 50 which I love.
The Inkey List PHA Toner
Exfoliating sensitive skin with scrubs or harsh chemicals can absolutely destroy the skin barrier and cause more irritation. While it’s important to remove dead skin cells it needs to be as gentle as possible when your skin is sensitive. This is why I love The Inkey List PHA Toner. I apply a 10p size amount on to a dry cotton pad and wipe all over the face. I do this every other night.
The next few recommendations are all by the same brand Aveeno. Every product I’ve tried by this brand have been lovely and is a great brand for sensitive skin.
Aveeno Calm + Restore Oat Gel Moisturiser
This is my absolute favourite moisturiser I’ve tried tonnes that all break me out. This is extremely gentle, lightweight and feels lovely and soft on the skin. I use this every night on my face.
Aveeno Baby Daily Care Body Wash
This is a lovely body wash for anyone with sensitive skin, if it’s gentle enough for a baby it’s great for adult skin with sensitivity. It has a very light fragrance and lathers ever so slightly.
Aveeno Skin Renewal Gentle Body Scrub
Exfoliating the skin can be problematic for anyone with sensitive skin. This is why I love this Aveeno body scrub it has small beads that don’t scratch the skin and a nice gentle scent. I like to use this with damp exfoliating gloves on the body once a week.
Aveeno Skin Relief Body Oil Spray
I must admit I don’t usually like a body oil. I have never liked that greasy feel to the skin that most oils give but after a friend recommended this oil I tried it. It sinks in the skin really fast and has a lovely light scent. My body skin feels lovely and soft straight away after applying. The spray makes this super quick and easy to use and doesn’t feel like a chore to apply like some moisturisers feel to do.
Aveeno Skin Renewal Soothing Body Cream
Unfortunately I have just used up my own tub so I’ve had to get an image of the internet. I love this cream it has a slight scent that reminds me of mince pies! Not sure if anyone will agree with me but I love the smell and it makes my skin feel super soft after using.
