WONDERSKIN LIP TINT REVIEW
Wonderskin Wonder Blading All-Day Lip Stain – Shade Hayley

I’ve seen this lip tint everywhere recently and the amount it’s pushed by influencers kind of put me off purchasing to be honest. Anything that is really pushed all over tiktok and social media I usually find disappointing when I try myself. I hadn’t really thought about buying this product up until recently I realised I had plans for Halloween in which I need to wear a red lip.
Now I absolutely love a red lip I think it looks so classy however it is so messy, constantly having to reapply, checking it hasn’t gone on your teeth, having to eat tiny mouthfuls of food being careful to not smudge, worrying your hair will stick to it, it is just a nightmare! Any liquid lipsticks or lip products claiming to be transfer proof all dry my lips out and I never find they are transfer proof at all so I wondered whether a lip stain would be my better option. I want to enjoy the night without having to worry what’s going on with my lipstick! I understand with a lip stain the colour may not be as intense as a lipstick would be but I am hoping I can maybe pat a tiny bit of lipstick over the top to give the desired effect.
For the Halloween costume I am wearing I need a bold red lip so I chose shade ‘Hayley’ which is described as a rich neutral red. The product is a tint that you apply, wait to dry and then peel or wipe off leaving the colour behind. Let’s try it out!
I moisturised my lips one hour before applying the stain as I get extremely dry lips! I removed any residue before applying the product.

I read online it’s best to do half your lip first to prevent going over the same part too many times. I started with the right side of my bottom lip and then did the left side. I did the same with the top lip and waited ten minutes before removing. The applicator isn’t the easiest to get a crisp lip line so I did find it difficult lining the lips.

I found it wasn’t easy to peel off so I wiped over with a damp cotton pad. The colour payout is great for a stain but it has clung to all my dry patches. As you can see some areas are darker than others. This is an issue I experience with all lip products unless they are a cream satin or sheer finish. There is absolutely no transfer when I kiss the back of my hand. Let’s see how it wears.

After half an hour my lips did start feeling uncomfortably dry so I did add a little bit of lip balm. It didn’t seem to affect the stain and my finger had no red residue on after rubbing the balm in. The colour did actually seemed to intensity after 1 hour as you can see it looks brighter. I have not added any more of the product just lip balm.

This is after 3 hours wear. I think this product would work better for someone who does not have dry or chapped lips. I felt it gave me a good base to apply maybe less lipstick over the top but with me choosing a vibrant colour stain I wouldn’t personally use it alone. Bare in mind these photos are extreme close ups and from a distance it did actually look pretty good.

My thought process with trying this out was once the lipstick wears off the stain underneath would still show through meaning less top ups. If you wear a red lipstick and eat and drink etc your natural lip colour will start showing through where as I thought a stain would help with that. I’m going to apply a tiny bit of lipstick to show how this would look.

I have applied a lot less lipstick than I would have normally done to fully coat the lips so the stain has definitely created a nice base for the lipstick. The lipstick has evened out the patchy areas. For my Halloween look I will definitely use the stain as a base and then shape the lip edges with lipliner and add a tiny amount of lipstick over the top. This will work for me and probably does seem a weird way to do it to other people! Long lasting lipsticks tend to be matte and they emphasise my dryness so I wanted a comfortable lip for me. Creamy lipsticks are more comfortable but with them having a sheen they tend to smudge so wearing a tint underneath means I can wear less but still have the desired effect!
After removing the lipstick the stain did stay there for a good few more hours but got more patchy as time went on.
Final thoughts. I think a more natural colour would be better if you didn’t want to apply lipstick over the top. As the product wears off it is more noticeable with a brighter or darker colour so I personally think a more natural colour would be more useful as a stain. The drier the lip the worse it looks so you have to really exfoliate and moisturise your lips before using. As a base under a vibrant colour it works well as when the lipstick starts to wear off it isn’t as noticeable.
